Natural Interaction (NI) With Unity3D!

12th Jan 2011

Natural Interaction is a term used where the interaction between a user and a computer program is processed via the Human Senses (sound, vision). Most common ways include Hand Gestures, Voice Recognition and Body Motion Tracking (i.e. Kinect).

OpenNI supplies a set of API's which allow us developers to get hands onto the Body Motion Tracking or Voice Recognition regardless of the sensors used. This means translating the complicated data into something meaningful that developers can translate into something awesome! Were pretty sure that given full body tracking some really cool concepts can come to light and its somthing we will definately be experimenting with here at Rubix Studios Ltd.

So how does this apply to Unity3D?

Well as you all know we specialise in Unity3D development, an Unity3D-OpenNI wrapper has been developed which can by found by clicking here. With the plug-in it means we can integrate Kinect into our games for controller-less games!

Awesome!
